Interview
In the bathroom... with Annabel Rosendahl
On calm, repetition and focus. Annabel Rosendahl lives in Oslo, a city that gives her a sense of calm and clarity in everyday life. Nature, light and the changing seasons are close, and the pace is slow enough to allow for focus and depth. She works with fashion and jewelry and is the founder of Ravn Jewelry. As a mother of two young boys, balance between work and family life is essential, and time is something she protects.
- IN THE BATHROOM -
What does time in the bathroom mean to you?
“The bathroom is the place where I can close the door and focus on myself for a moment. Take a shower, remove my makeup and be alone. With two young boys and a busy everyday life, it also needs to function efficiently, so everything is organised and easy to use.
I need the space to feel clean, tidy and calm. Soft light, few products and as little visual noise as possible. When everything has its place, it’s easier for me to slow down and be present.”
- FIRMING THERAPY RICH CREAM -
And now to the products on the shelf. What was your first impression of Firming Therapy Rich Cream?
“My first impression was comfort. It feels deeply nourishing on the skin, especially during winter. It melts in beautifully and leaves a healthy glow rather than a greasy finish. It’s a cream that gives a sense of protection and balance.”
How does it feel on the skin over time?
“Over time my skin feels more resilient, especially in cold weather. Dryness settles, the texture becomes smoother, and my skin looks more even. It feels like a cream that strengthens the foundation of the skin.”
What makes a product stay in your routine rather than being replaced?
“When something works for my skin, I stick with it. I’m a creature of habit and don’t feel the need to constantly switch products. Repeating the same products gives my skin stability. At the same time, I enjoy combining favourites from different brands. Firming Therapy Rich Cream works as a reliable base I always return to.”
- YOUR ROUTINE -
Can you walk us through your skincare routine from morning to night?
“In the morning I splash my face with cold water, apply an active serum and never skip SPF. My go-to is Rudolph Care Sun SPF 30 Serum. During the colder months I finish with Firming Therapy Rich Cream and do a short gua sha massage.
For my body, I use Rudolph Care Body Oil on damp skin and finish with Açaí Body Lotion. In the evening, once the kids are asleep, I take a bit more time. I always remove my makeup thoroughly, apply serum and finish with Firming Therapy Rich Cream so my skin can recover overnight.”
Is there one step you never skip, even when time is short?
“SPF. Always.”
Which part of your routine feels most grounding?
“The gua sha massage. It’s a small moment where I automatically slow down.”
When does skincare feel pleasant and easy rather than demanding?
“When I don’t try to do too much, but listen to what my skin needs that day. When skincare becomes something that supports me, rather than another task.”
What do you expect from skincare beyond results?
“That it fits into life as it is. That it’s easy to bring along and easy to stay consistent with, even when everyday life is full.”
- RUDOLPH CARE -
When did you first discover Rudolph Care?
“I first discovered Rudolph Care through the iconic A Hint of Summer drops. It was many years ago, and I honestly can’t remember who recommended them. I had always been a little nervous about self-tanner, but what made this one feel different was the drop format. Being able to mix a few drops into my regular face cream didn’t feel scary, but controlled, natural and easy to adjust. Over the years I’ve tried different products here and there, and I’ve consistently had very good experiences. Even during pregnancy, I remember using Mommy & Me Balm on my growing belly – a product I warmly recommend to expectant mothers.”
What appeals to you?
“I trust the products. They’ve worked for me over many years and through different phases of life, including pregnancy. That’s what makes me return.”
Do you have a personal Rudolph Care ritual?
“My small ritual is about turning my routine into a calm reset for a few minutes, instead of just getting it done. After cleansing, I apply serum and then Rudolph Care Firming Therapy Rich Cream, taking an extra minute to really massage it in with my gua sha – a perfect tool for releasing tension. For my body, I apply Rudolph Care Body Oil after showering while the skin is still slightly damp, and finish with Açaí Body Lotion to seal in moisture. It’s a ritual I stick to throughout winter, as it keeps my skin deeply hydrated.”
- OSLO -
You live in Oslo. What do you love most about the city?
“I love how Oslo gives you the best of both worlds. It’s a calm city that’s easy to walk around, yet nature is always close. That means a lot to me because I work in an industry that’s constantly moving. Oslo gives me space to breathe. Even a short walk by the water or a quick escape into the forest can reset my mind and bring me back to myself.”
Where do you go when you need a break or a sense of calm?
“I love going for a walk on Bygdøy. The path along the water is incredibly calming, with the fjord beside you almost the entire way. Fresh air, open space, no cars and a slower pace make everything feel lighter instantly. It’s my go-to place when I need to clear my head. Especially when both life and work move fast, having that kind of nature so close feels like a groundingluxury.”
