The Gua Sha
The Gua Sha
The Gua Sha is a beautiful and multifunctional design object. The Gua Sha is handmade of recycled glass in Denmark at Holmegaard Værk: a Danish institution within traditional glassworks, craftsmanship and design.
Make your skin glow and increase circulation as you massage the tensions around your eyebrows, jaw, shoulders, thighs – wherever it feels good.
Let The Gua Sha decorate your nightstand and use it for earring storage. Bring it to work and massage a sore muscle while reading emails – and use it to keep your desk tidy as a beautiful paperweight.
No two gua shas are alike. Measurements may vary and some of them have an air bubble or two. This makes your gua sha one of a kind and reflects the exquisite glasswork and craftsmanship.

How to use
The Gua Sha
Use The Gua Sha with Açai Facial Oil or Facial Oil Delight on the face and with Açai Body Balm or Body Oil on the body. The dimple in The Gua Sha is designed for your thumb so you can maintain a firm grip around it. Massage in upward and outward motions on your face and in the direction of the heart on your body. You can’t do it wrong – just do what feels good for you. You can also use the gua sha on the outside of your clothes, especially on your thighs where a lot of toxins accumulate.
Use a mild soap to clean your gua sha after use.
The Gua Sha is much more than a massage tool. It’s a little piece of Danish handicraft, produced locally in the hands of talented people at Holmegaard Værk.
Place it on your nightstand and use the dimple in the glass for earring storage. Put it in the fridge to cool down your body on warm days or if you get hot flashes. Keep your papers tidy and use it as a paperweight. The choice is yours!

Rudolph Care & Holmegaard Værk
The Gua Sha is a piece of Danish craftsmanship created in a creative collaboration with the Danish glassmaker Holmegaard.
At Holmegaard Værk, each gua sha is hand-cast in one of the five custom-made molds developed especially for this purpose.
When the molten glass — heated to 1160 degrees — is poured into the mold, a stamp is pressed into it to form the soft indentation that gives the gua sha its cloud-like, organic shape.
As the gua sha cools and sets, it does so slowly to relieve tension in the glass and prevent it from cracking. This careful process also makes the gua sha resistant to both high and low temperatures, meaning you can store it in the fridge to cool down on hot days or warm it up to ease tense shoulders.
Unhurried elegance
The Gua Sha is handmade, which means only 100 gua shas can be produced daily.
It's a meticulous process that requires patience and precision. Although the molds are identical, each gua sha will have its unique expression, depending on how hard the stamp has been pressed into the glass and how many air bubbles have left beautiful imprints in the petroleum blue glass. And if you want to get your hands on a petroleum blue gua sha, you might not want to wait forever. When this batch of gua shas is sold and a new one needs to be produced, there may be less petroleum blue glass left, and the gua sha will take on a new tone. It depends on what type of glass is surplus and available for recycling.
That beautiful, if you ask us.
More than just a gua sha
Although the beautiful piece of glass is called The Gua Sha, it is much more than a beauty tool for creating radiance; it is a design object you can use as a paperweight or place your earrings in.
Let the light shine through the petroleum blue glass and dream away to the sea, then let its soft curves glide over your neck... and breathe.
